Richardson wants $50 million for college scholarships. Gov. Bill Richardson on Monday announced his intention to seek $50 million from the New Mexico Legislature to fund an endowment for the College Affordability Act, which was signed into law earlier this year but that did not receive any appropriation in the 2005 legislative session. The legislation in support of the funding will be carried by Sen. Michael Sanchez, D-Valencia County. [Latest news from New Mexico Business Weekly]
