State to honor 'green' businesses October 13. The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) announced it will honor nine state businesses and organizations for their efforts at preventing pollution with its Green Zia Awards on Thursday, Oct. 13. Environment Secretary Ron Curry and Lt. Governor Diane Denish are to present the awards, administered by NMED's Office of Pollution Prevention. The ceremony will be held at the Governor's Mansion in Santa Fe from noon to 2 p.m. [Latest news from New Mexico Business Weekly]
